  • Dropping Rear End

    Well the dude who did it(the rear) said 5k was out of warranty or some bs. So, im heading out to the garage to jack it up and drop that thing. Have no clue how....wish me luck!

    It's very simple. You'll have it out in about an hour.

      Piece of cake!
      Get her up in the air and let the rear hang down and you'll see what has to be done.
      Just a side note but the rear will want to swing down when you take the torque arm off so before you do that get a jack under it.

          WHen I did mine the Torque arm was the last thing I did and droped the rear with it attached.
          Worked well!

            when i took mine out everything was so easy just use a nice impact and everything comes out like a charm

            Totaled 99 SS swapped drivetrain, harness, interior, and suspension into 94 Z28.

              This is right at the end of the driveshaft going into the rear....

                      Wow looks like it broke off with the driveshaft still attached, like he said broken pinion or you snapped it off right at the housing.

                        got the diff cover off,
                        took 4 bolt outs and the clamps came off,

                        how do i get the axle shaft out??

                        heres what it looks like.

                          Look at the Diff assembly there should be a large pin pointing up and down you have to remove that and the covers that are holding the bearings in place have to come off also then the axle should slide out
