  • Door trim question...

Ok, this should be easy... I've taken most of this car apart and some of it back together. I'm trying to put new door hinges in and have run into a completly unexpected problem. How does the door trim come off?? I've got the inner handle/armrest off, the trim surrounding the lock/ door release off and all the 'push pins' from around the rear/bottom/front of the door off. But the top black trim piece that would be at the top of the inner trim panel won't come off. I've tried popping the whole thing up and back, but it won't budge. I'm pretty sure that it shouldn't be removed from the door panel, it looks like the would be carnage if I tried.

Any help would be apprecieated either in words or pictures. Hey, if you don't mind the trip, I'll feed you to help me out.

I don't have any experience doing that, so your guess is as good as mine

I just did a window motor on my 4th gen and I unscrewed the arm rest and around the door handle and the whole panel just came off by pulling it straight up.

Are talking about the trim piece that touches the window? That should all come off together. just trying to help out I have no expience on third gens.

The black piece does not come off the door panel... you have to put yur fingers down in the window channel and pull out towards the door skin.. I wish I had a picture for you because they're easy to break.. Theres like four spots where you can pry the clips out with a screw driver if you look hard enough with a flashlight.

In that case I probably broke something . The door trim was not suppposed to be the hard part of putting on new door hinges!!!

By looking up from the bottom of the door panel I was able to figure out that the black piece doesn't come off the panel. Problem is, I have no power to the window (batt out, as well as a bunch of other stuff) so I was hoping to get the panel off to 'jump' the window motor.
