performance intake stock engine for a 3rd gen

i need this question answered if i put a edelbrock performer intake on a stock 305 with a stock rochester quadrajet would this work or would the engine get to much gas or what would happen. if this would not work what would i have to do to make it work.

yes it would work fine if you know how to tune q-jets. But don't get a 305 if that is what you are looking at. much less potential

put the 283 over the 305, but a 350 takes all.
that 283 you were tellin me about sounds half decent

that 283 is a nice engine but like i told you in that pm with my soled motor mounts and those over sized pistons it shake the engine to much sitting in the drivers seat on idle it felt like i was in a massage chair cant emagine gunning it. no i figured out what was wrong with that 305 i had and i thought about putting it back in. i found a 350 that needs rebuilt for $25 how much would it take to do a complete rebuild time and money.

less then a few hundred. look in summit. if you have the right tool you can rebuild in a week end.

ok that sounds reasonable. he said what happend was the engine spun a rod bearing. and i was going to pick it up today but the guy wont help load it into a van this weekend he wants a truck and our truck the transfer case wont make it.
