  • Need a tap...

The top bolt hole for the TPS sensor (in the throttle body) is stripped out.

I just bought a set of TPS bolts ($8 for two bolts...) and I really wanna re-tap this hole and be on my way.

    My problem.

The bolts are weird as hell, which is why they're a pain in the ass to find.

    M4.5-0.7 x 12

I need that in tap form. Anyone have any ideas where I can get THAT in a tap?

A good hardware store will have metric taps. I'll look in my tap index at work and see if I have any spares I could send ya.

        Okay.

I think since it's stripped out, I'll probably have to go with a M5 sized tap, so, spending $8 to get this set of TPS bolts was worthless...

I had the bolts on mine break off. Someone posted on Thirdgen about using a 1/4-20 I think. I drilled mine out and retapped them. The only problem I had was the TPS slots needed to be opened up a bit. The holes were slightly farther apart due to the larger hole diameters. This seems to be a common problem. I am surprise someone hasnt come up with a product to fix it. Maybe a helicoil kit of some sort.
