  • Have a transmission issue

I have a 1982 Chevy 3/4 truck with a 350th in it.What its doing when you start the truck it shoots transmission fluid out the top of the transmission dipstick tube I mean literally sprays it out.I wanna know whats causing this and how can it be fixed?I'm no tranny expert so this has got me puzzled.

Ok I went thru it today and cleaned out the air tube?? Wasnt bad had some stuff in it started it let it run till it was all warmed up checked the fluid it was a quart low filled it back up and nothing else happened. No leaks or shooting out of the tube.I'm gonna drive it and see what happens from here to see if the problem occurs again.

probably just a plugged vent tube then - and the pressure had to go someplace

I had this happen problem in my camaro the first Metro Cruise and it caught on fire but it was over heating badly due to traffic.I didnt want to go thru that again wasnt real pretty opening the hood and seeing your brand new motor on fire. It's an old truck you got to expect the problems.
