  • Bought a new server for MiFbody

Bought a new server for MiFbody. It actually came to being $5 more than what I'm currently paying, but it was too good of a deal to pass up.

    What we currently have:
    Intel P4 2.6ghz Duo Core (x2 Processors)
    2gb memory
    110gb HD
    500gb Bandwidth

    What I bought:
    Intel Core2Duo 2.2ghz Core2Duo (Quad Core Processing )
    2gb memory
    320gb x2 HDD
    1500gb bandwidth

Wow that is a great deal...

So when are the transition pains going to begin? Or do you think this will be a smoother transition than before.

The transition should be a lot smoother than last time. Last time the big hold up was our attachment table being like 2 gigs big. I transfered the attachments to being a file structure system instead of database stored, so it's just a matter of uploading all the files, then doing the database backup. It'll be a lot smoother.

As for timeline.. not sure. I really am stretching myself by purchasing this server, so I'm going to go as fast as I can to get everything onto it and cancel my payments for the current server. I know I can't afford to pay for both servers for more than 3 months.
