Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!

Don't know if I agree with "sweet looking" but they are rare and different. I was just looking over my buddy's Notchback saturday....would you believe he bought it about 8 years ago from Cole Pontiac (next to Berger) for $1500.....lol. They took it in on trade and it just sat around till he caught wind of it......what a steal.
When the 3rd Gen F-bodies were designed, one of the major design challenges was the rear hatch glass. It is the first car ever to have glass with a compound curve. It was a significant design and manufacturing challenge for everyone involved. The shape of the rear hatch glass is very critical to the over all aerodynamics of the car, especially the drag coefficient.
A local SCCA Competition driver that I know, switched from a 2nd Gen race car to a 3rd Gen race car about that time. He just took a piece of plexiglass and fashioned a rear window that was similar to the factory glass. His car was unstable at high speed and the top speed was less than they had inticipated. A GM engineer at one race told him he had to change the rear window to match the factory compound curved rear glass. Once he did that, the speed came back and the instability went away.
I would think this notch-back hatch absolutely destroys the aerodynamics of the car. That may explain why GM only installed it on a very few cars. Besides not being very attractive (in my opinion) it is a quick way to ruin millions of dollars worth of engineering and wind tunnel design time and effort.
The 3rd Gen Camaro and Firebird are some of the most aerodynamic cars GM has ever built, especially back then, and I suspect that is why you still see many 3rd Gens used at Bonneville still today.
But, it is unique. If you don't care about the aerodynamics, and want to be different, than go for it.

That's a great ad, Matt. Funny story about that. A GM engineer on the F-body design team once told me that Pontiac "cheated" a little to get that Cd number. When they ran the car in the wind tunnel, they removed the outside mirrors, and jacked the car around to achieve the best angle of atteck possible. Pretty clever. But, it still is one of the most aerodynamic cars GM ever built.

You mean to say that you drive your car WITH the side mirrors on? WTF? Am I the only one?

Pretty funny, Matt!!!
To quote from the movie "Gumball Rally": As Franco rips the rear view mirror off the Ferrari Daytona Spyder, "Whatsa behind me doesn't matter!"

Nice. But I was serious. The car weve been cruising lately doesnt have side mirrors. Or seat belts. Or air bags. In fact we just put the rearview in for good measure.
In 1946 sideview mirrors were an option and seatbelts were only a twinkle in an engineers mind haha.
