  • anybody do drilled and slotted rotors on a ls1 f body

if so how much, where did u get them and how do u like them. Mine are starting to squeek bad and are really glazed so i thought time to replace. Really its just a reason to get drilled and slotted rotors cause i probably could turn them. Let me know oh yeah dont want to spend a fortune.

I bought my drilled/slotted and zinc coated LS1 rotors off of ebay.....think they came out of Canada. They were just over 400 for the set...no pads.

It should be noted that drilled rotors will create a stress riser condition at each and every hole. At extreme heat/stress, the rotors may begin to crack around these holes.

Unless you plan on seeing the track regularly, drilled rotors really aren't required, other than looking cool, and don't buy cheap ones if you do plan on thrashing them regularly.

GM is already seeing failures on the Z06 drilled rotors 'cause GM insists on making stock rotors out of cheap and crappy materials.

For what it's worth I just put some on the front of my car. I got them from Summit; $100.00 for the set and $50 for ceramic pads at Auto Zone. Been working great so far.

I have KVR cross drilled with carbon-metallic pads on the front of mine. No problems with them what-so-ever. They stop way better than my stock set-up and no warping. I warped the hell out of my stockers a few times which led me to replace them.

New brakes are also cross drilled but will require 18" wheels to fit.

those are sexy tony.....i wonder how you walked outta GM with these

i have the SSBC "Swirl" rotors on my car..they do nothing for stopping any better then stock, but they look kinda cool, that's the only reason i got them. i would stay away from cross drilled, i have heard they are more prone to cracking around the holes
